Inspected It

I walked it multiple times with friends to get varying perspectives.

Every time I went out there, I found more things that I loved about it.

I called water, electric, and internet utilities and verified that they were available.

I had informational meetings with site development and building planners.

I had a septic designer dig holes to make sure that was available.

Found It

I’d been looking for someplace not far from Seattle, accessible by transit ideally, to kick it in nature.

I found it in this 10 acre parcel with large western red cedar and doug fir, only about an hour door-to-forest-floor by bike and ferry.

It went on the market on January 2, 2024. I biked out to it that night. It was dark and damp and I loved it.

I offered asking price in cash immediately.

I got word via the brokers that someone in the family wanted to keep it in the family.

Oh well, it was too good to be true.

But about a week later the family deal fell through and I had it under contract to buy.
